Organizational Setting The positions are located in FAO Project Office in Multan, Pakistan. The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural , fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner. Reporting Lines Under the overall supervision of FAO Representative in Pakistan and in close coordination with Assistant FAO Rep (Program / Admin) and Program Officer Resilience, the incumbent will report to Project Coordinator in performance of the following functions: Technical Focus Establishment of 100 Farmer Field Schools, Livestock Farmer Field School (LFFS) and Women Open Schools (WOS) along with CSA practices for adaptive research and participative learning in the target districts; Integrated capacity building plan (ICBP) prepared to strengthen the capacity of beneficiaries, non-beneficiaries, Government Officials and other stakeholders. Tasks and responsibilities Take lead in technical backstopping to downstream implementing partners (DIP) through identification of the potential venue for establishment of Farmer Field School/Women Open School and select the Trainees for FFS/WOS; Guide and advice the Project’s farmer field school (FFS) programme for adaptive research and participatory learning of new and improved technologies and practices to increase the crop production, including curriculum development, training of master trainers and FFS Facilitators, implementation and monitoring of FFSs; Provide advice and guidance to DIP for establishment, formation and facilitation of FFS/WOS in the project targeted area; Provide technical assistance on FFS/WOS planning and management component and training on assigned cropping system; provide DIP hand on assistance during the course of implementation of FFS/WOS, through close collaboration and coordination with Training Supervisor; Prepare and compile relevant education materials, provide field manuals for use of facilitators and trainees of FFS/WOS. Conduct ToT sessions for DIP FFS/WOS facilitators; Ensure good quality of FFS/WOS trainee session through hand on assistance and day-to-day monitoring of FFS/WOS interventions; Support and facilitate FAO and DIP field teams in implementing CSA practices; Support downstream implementing partners to carry climate smart intervention; Facilitate DIP to undertake field days and demonstrations, and prepare relevant manuals to farmers on the best sustainable agriculture management practices; Develop, document and disseminate appropriate best-practices in community-based approaches to natural resource management; Provide technical guidance and advice to implementing partners on requiring services and inputs to obtain effective results; Facilitate the exchange of informa
