Job Description

Under the supervision of the Head of the Office, the responsibilities of the Assistant Liaison Officer is to give, obtain and exchange information requiring discussions and explanations both to UNHCR staff members, Government authorities and other external parties on critical matters with political nature. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Create and maintain relations and coordinate activities with the government (civil and military components), civil society and political establishments in order to implement/promote UNHCR global and regional objectives. Assist in establishing or strengthening partnerships with national NGOs and humanitarian actors to promote joint or collaborative emergency response. Contribute to the UNHCR advocacy and awareness raising activities. Provide support to the collection of information on political and security related developments and relief programmes. Contribute in providing a comprehensive protection strategy and support in representing the office externally. Perform other duties as requested by the Head of Office.
